What Jane Austen Heroine am I?

Face book has tons of different quizes to take. I've tried to stay away form most of them, but this Jane Austen one I could not pass up! So the test calculated that I'm like Elizabeth Bennett. I looked up to her as I grew up and would think it a complement if it were true. Jen (my sister) always said that she was more like Elizabeth and I was like Jane because I cared for other people and Jen was more judgmental (that was before she changed a lot). But, I don't know, I guess it's up to you to decided. My opinion of myself is too subjective to decided.

"Spring into Broadway II" ended with great success!

Spring into Broadway is now finished. I'm glad because of the free nights, but sad because it'll probably be the last show I'll do in a long time. I was so much fun because the cast was awesome and I got to hang out with my family a lot. I'm going to miss them when me move to Salem in about a month.

We all were pretty worried when two members of our cast quit three weeks before we opened. In total, 5 people dropped out since we started rehearsals. We tried our best to over come the damage by adding people at the last minute (Thank you Curtis Greenfield!) and even some songs we just had to leave with an open space. So the last few weeks were kind of hairy but I think that it made us a closer cast and a better show. We literally worked our tails off at 3 hour rehearsals, six days a week. It was tough, but it was worth the laughs, applause, and impressed comments from the audience. One of the best comments I received was form Ronda Shelton. She literally dragged her husband to the first Saturday performance because he is not the theatre going type. But he had the biggest smile when I saw him after the show and the next day at church. Ronda said that he just could not stop talking about it and even started to sing some of the songs. It's comments like these and other reactions of the audience that makes me want to do theatre, and they make the hard work worth it.
I had a great time in "Spring into Broadway II" and doing other theatre at EOU. I will always miss it.

Live Theatre is Great!

Something unexpected happened during Saturday night's preformance of SPRING INTO BROADWAY. This video shows the transession between the songs, "Next to Loving" and "I Can Hear the Bells," my song. What was supposed to happen is that Charles and I would bump into each other and then I would sing about literally falling in love with him. Well, as you can see by the video, things didn't go according to plan.

The sound isn't very good, so I'll tell you what was said. I said, "Owe!" and the Charles said, "What do we do?" I said, "Ripe it out," Then Jen R came over to help. The hair was not removed so Charles ad-libbed, "will you still go out with me?" Then Kenny said, "Does anyone have any Mannyounas?" Fune then yells, "Mama," to my mother and director watching (and crying from laugher) in the audience. My hair is finally un-tangled and Charles says, "Sorry little lady," and leaves as I say, "It's okay," as I rub my head.
It was a crazy moment for all of us on stage. I really don't know how the audience felt. It wasn't until the song was half over before I could stop laughing.

This is what I get for Being Clumsy

The day that SPRING INTO BROADWAY opened, I had decided to go for my first outside run because it had wonderful weather. Five minutes into my run, I fell and scraped up my knee as I tried to jump over a curb. I hurt pretty bad and by the time I came home, it was pretty bloody (which is what the video shows, Enjoy!) The hard part was dancing on it and wearing knee highs for the show that night. It's a lot better now.

Good Morning on the 21st of April!

SNOW!!!! This is a video of what we woke up to on the morning of APRIL 21st. I thought that it would be spring by now. Maybe it is global warming like in that one movie. Soon, we'll all have to move to Mexico or Missouri ;)

SPRING INTO BROADWAY Opens this week!

"Spring into Broadway" opens April 17-19 and also plays April 24-26. It's a Broadway variety show packed with singing, dancing, and laughs. My whole family is involved. Jen and Jill are right behind me in the picture and we sing other numbers together too. My Dad's in it as well and my mom directed it. So it's quiet the family affiar. Nick, Jen's husband is even playing the drums in the pit. Patxi would have done the slideshow but he has drill the first week we open. But come and see the show!

We're Moving!

Patxi has been accepted! All he has to do is register and he'll be ready to start in June.

He planning on first becoming a paramedic and then a firefighter. Since he might be deployed to Iraq in 2010, it'll be about a four year process until he is fully certified and looking for a job.

So we hope to move the first week of June, before Patxi has to go to his annual National Guard two week training. Then, I'll be back in La Grande for graduation and then offically move to Salem that week and search for a job.

The scary thing is that we don't know where we'll be living yet. The apartments around the college won't let us apply until May, when they'll know if there are any openings. So I have to wait another month until my worries can be appeased. But we are generally excited about this new step in our lives, especially Patxi. I will post more information when it comes.

Waite Reunion August 2007

The Waites had a Reunion at camp Elkana August 2007. There was an awesome slip and slide there that we spent the whole day using. This is a video of Patxi, Ben, and Kres racing. the slide was the highlight of the reunion, it was so fun! I'm excited about the big Hendrickson's reunion in the same place this next August.

Trying out the video post thing

I'm really posting this video to see how and if it works, not really for entertainment proposes. Sorry. Enjoy!
This is a video of Patxi's second love, the huge elk we found while visiting Yellowstone Park August 2007. Since we were not allowed to carry a gun, Patxi was only able to shoot it with a camera. Sorry that the picture isn't the best, it from a free camera.
